We did it!

[Madoka shows the camera her tired but still proud Pokémon resting on her bed in the Center, presumably an hour or so after her triumph in Sprout Tower.]

The Sprout Tower challenge was a lot of fun, and Purrloin and Mami ended up evolving near the end! But, ah...

[The camera pans back to Madoka, who sets it down and fishes for the TM she earned in her bag. When she finds it, she holds it up for the camera to see.]

...Now that I've earned this Technical Machine, how do I use it...?

That is how you listen to music... Are there such things as TM players? The Elder said it contained a Pokémon move...

I bet they have players for all the letters of the alphabet, it wouldn't be fair otherwise!

[CDs, TMs, the combinations are endless.]

All you gotta do is put the disk in the player, and it'll tell your pokey how to use the move. Easy as pie! ...You might wanna get some headphones that fit them, though.

...I guess that makes sense? That would be a lot of different disks though...

Where would I get headphones for Pokémon? Or a TM player, for that matter? I mean, there is a huge department store in Goldenrod, I think, but...

But you're totally right, there's a huuuuuuge store in Goldentown. If any place has that stuff, it's gotta be that one.

Right. If I ever end up going to Goldenrod I'll have to remember to check the store for it all.

Ah- I'm Madoka Kaname, I forgot to say... Who are you? I don't think I've seen you on the network?

[Teddie will never understand how he's not as famous as he thinks he should be. Complaining over the feed a few times clearly means he should have idol status already.]

That's okay though, I'm a sucker for introductions. Ahem. [He clears his throat and gently places his hand on his chest.] I am Teddie, your bear extraordinaire~

Ah... I'm sorry? I just haven't seen you then, I guess...

[There's that and then the Bear Puns. (He could ursa little more variety.)]

It's uh... Nice to meet you, Teddie-san...

Why are you a bear, exactly?

[Teddie got questioned a lot when it came to the bear thing, but never once was he asked why he was a bear. He's completely caught off guard and it shows by the way he sort of just stares into the feed before finally saying anything.]

'Cause...'cause that's what I am?

[Maybe that was the wrong way to phrase it.]

N-no, I mean... You look human...? Why call yourself a bear if you're human?

Oh, you're too kind...

[Teddie won't complain about passing the human test, but that doesn't mean it's okay to lie.]

But didn't you know already? Everybody who wasn't human back home turns all human when they get here. Even Rise-chan was all like "Oh Teddie, you're 100 bearcent human now!" and I was all "Whaaaaaaat?"

[That may or may not be word for word.]

Er... No, I didn't... I mean, I thought...

[Sentient animals weren't too far out of the question for her, considering Kyubey, but...]

I thought...

[She's still having a hard time wrapping her head around 'in other worlds everybody is an animal but when they get here they're turned human'.]

Huh? W-What's wrong? It's okay to think sometimes, honest.

[Maybe he's been a bit too spoiled, everyone he's told so far seemed to get over it fairly quickly. Of course, they were also people who've been here awhile or animals themselves, but it never occurred to him that someone might get stuck on something like that. In fact, it still hasn't.]

I don't bite or nothing. ...Okay, there was one time, but in my defense, he was waving his hand in my face all willy-nilly.

...You were a bear...? But now you're not? How is that possible?

[Madoka you've dealt with much weirder things, calm down.]

I grew a body by doing sit-ups!

[Anyone who asks Teddie to explain anything will only be met with disappointment.]

But, uh, I dunno how it happens in this world... I already had my human body by time I got here, you'd have to ask one of the other guys.

[Madoka has no idea how to respond to that, and so just nods politely.]

Other guys? Like who...?

Hrm, let's see here... [He taps his chin.] Well, I know Pops isn't human, that's for sure. But he never did tell me what he really is, either. I guess that doesn't matter if you just wanna know how he got human...

Pops? [She's assuming that's a nickname he's given someone.]

Yeah, that's right! 'Cause he looks just like a dad.

[Apparently "dad" is a specific kind of look now.]

He's not too hard to miss either, he's always wearing this really funny hat and is usually the one sending a bunch of texts.

Oh! Uhm...

[The second set of traits help a lot more than him seeming 'dadly'. Madoka checks the network for a moment before replying.]

The man who asked for a nemesis? ...I think his hat is cool, actually... He seems more like one of those detectives from Western movies. He wasn't human?

[You can look back on the pokegear?! Teddie had no idea, now he knows what he's going to be doing all night...]

Correctamundo~! He had no problem telling me he wasn't human, but at the same time he just won't tell me what he was in the furst place! Talk about rude, am I right? Oh well. Anyway, if you wanna learn more about nonhumans, he's a pretty smart guy to ask.

Ah, no, I wouldn't say it's rude... Some things are more private to other people.

I don't want to make myself a nuisance by pestering him about it...

Could you tell me what being a bear was like? I've sort of always thought about what life would be like as a cat...

Of course it's rude! You don't just keep secrets from your pals like that. I was soooo open with him, and he won't even give me the ittiest bittiest of a hint.

[Although he finds himself double taking when she says she thought about being a cat. Why is it always cats...]

A kitty cat, huh? Hrm...I suppose I can see it. Sensei would love you to pieces... Oh! Right, anyway, being a bear is a lot like, well, being a human. Only fuzzier. ...And lonelier. To be honest, I much bearfer human life in terms of stuff I get to do now, but I also liked being able to switch back and forth, too...

There must be something you're not comfortable telling other people... It's the same way with him, I'm sure. Maybe you shouldn't take it so personally...?

[Cats are small fluffs who are allowed to do nothing all day other than laze around and look cute and eat. EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE A CAT, HAVEN'T YOU HEARD TEDDIE]

Ah... The important thing is that you're happy as you are now, maybe? Though being a bear sounds good... besides the lonely part. I'm glad you're not so lonely now, Teddie-san.
